The ONA, or Online News Association, is an organization that focuses specifically on online journalism. While it is not a local organization, they have held conferences in the
area, with the most recent being held on KU’s campus. The aim of this organization is to help build a network of journalists that not only focus on the field journalism, but also on the
ever changing technology that is being used to push news and information out to
the masses on the web by online journalists today.
This organization seems to be a perfect fit for my goals. I am planning on covering the video game industry (actually I just landed a spot doing that; go me), and the main place to find out news and information about gaming is on the internet. This organization's aims go hand in hand with my goals and I think it would be a perfect fit for me.
