As a senior transfer student with no extracurricular
involvement Washburn University, the Washburn Student Media group interests me.
The organization is completely relevant to my major, obviously, and would
provide a multitude of opportunities to practice and improve my journalistic
skills and abilities. Additionally, joining would give me an opportunity to get
involved, and in turn, get better acquainted with the university.
Washburn Student Media produces The Washburn Review, a “student-run publication dedicated to
informing and providing a voice for the general population of Washburn
University.” Not only does The Review
feature traditional print publications, but video, web, and other social media
resources as well. With such a broad range of staff jobs, the opportunities are
great. In addition to gaining experience that would undoubtedly enhance my
experience in journalism and mass media, I would be able to work with
and form relationships with other Washburn students.
Thankfully, The
Review’s website is easy to navigate
and I almost immediately found the link to apply for a position. (See, they get the whole "original without being confusingly unique concept!)
And if anyone else is interested...this link takes you to the online application form!
