Week 3 - Mitchell

If there was any media organization that I would join it would be "Media For The Missing."  It's a non-profit organization that works on using various media outlets to help find people who have been abducted, have gone missing, or are in abusive homes.  Although "Media For The Missing" is a national organization, they have a branch that's based in Manhattan, KS, at Kansas State University.  At KSU they have established a safe house where victims can go.  You can online and learn self defense tips in case anyone finds themselves in a situation to know self defense.  You can go their website at www.mediaforthemissing.org and choose your state and see the list of missing people and the information you need in case you recognize anyone you know.  I think this is a great organization because of the simple fact that people don't realize the potential that the media has.  People generally formulate the idea that the media is "dirty" and is made to be out worse then it actually is.  Mass media has became a very powerful tool that helps a lot of people if used properly.
